Lighting a firepit with a thermocouple
Thermocouples are important safety features for any propane or gas outdoor heating item. They are designed to shut off the gas of your firepit in the event that the flame is blown out due to wind, rain (or a spilled beverage).

First, push in the knob toward the back of the fireplace and turn to the high position. Then while holding the knob pushed in, light your firepit. Keep the knob pushed in for about 30 seconds until the thermocouple is heated. Then release the knob and enjoy.
